Client Service Manager

When a client moves an account, changes adviser, leaves the firm or passes away, someone has to make sure nothing is lost along the way. In this Client Service Manager job in Sydney NSW (hybrid), that someone is you. The team handles transfers between accounts, client migrations, Deceased Estate administration, offboarding and CHESS Sponsorship tasks for complex portfolios.

The employer is a long-standing wealth management business and the opening is verified. The work goes well beyond processing transactions: you get close to sophisticated investment operations, collaborate with other functions and deal with stakeholders here and in other countries.

Key Responsibilities

  • Handle every change to a client account, including transfers, transitions, static data and account details, with full accuracy
  • Manage the steps when clients offboard and when a Deceased Estate needs administering
  • Organise transfers of assets and positions, including what CHESS Sponsorship requires
  • Support the migration of clients and day-to-day upkeep of their accounts
  • Guard the accuracy of client data and the integrity of operations, holding standards when tasks pass to processing teams
  • Get daily work done within set turnaround times and to service standards
  • Act as the link between advisers, internal teams, client service colleagues and senior stakeholders in Australia and abroad, resolving what accounts and processing need in a prompt, professional manner
  • Raise operational problems early and escalate where needed
  • Help improve processes, take on further operational projects and team up across operations to reach on-time, accurate results

Requirements & Eligibility

  • Tertiary study completed in Commerce, Business, Economics, Finance or a closely related discipline
  • Wealth management, financial planning or financial services experience is highly desirable
  • RG146 qualification preferred; if you lack it, be willing to undertake the required study
  • Communicates clearly with all kinds of audiences and has built working relationships with advisers, client service teams and senior stakeholders
  • Precise, with excellent attention to detail and a firm commitment to accuracy
  • Highly organised and good at setting priorities
  • Thrives under tight deadlines and a fast pace, staying resilient while juggling competing priorities
  • A team player who is happy to work with several operational teams
  • Having worked on client transfers, investment operations or complex financial products will be advantageous
  • Sponsorship may be on offer for eligible candidates
