You will look after an established portfolio of business owners and advise them on financial performance, planning, cash flow, forecasting and tax. It suits an accountant who is already a trusted adviser and wants more ownership of client relationships and business results.
The firm wants experience, qualifications and an employment background that fit the role and can be verified. South African CA or CPA members should have certified copies of their membership and qualification documents ready.
Key Responsibilities
- Take charge of a ready-made book of business clients, earning the long-term confidence of the owners behind them
- Sit with clients over their numbers, unpack how the business is tracking and spot weak points, risks and openings
- Coach owners with hands-on, commercially sharp advice as they plan ahead and make big calls
- Steer clients on cash flow and help them forecast what is coming
- Answer tax and accounting questions, while keeping an eye on every accounting and taxation compliance deadline
- Stay the steady, professional go-to person for each client, pulling with colleagues so the work that goes out is right first time
Requirements & Eligibility
- Minimum 3–5 years of experience in public practice accounting
- CA or CPA qualification
- A track record of looking after and advising business clients, backed by real strength in advisory work and managing relationships
- Excellent communication that wins trust and credibility, and comfortable talking straight with owners and key decision-makers
- Sharp commercial sense, a hands-on way of fixing problems and sound knowledge of accounting and taxation compliance requirements
- Qualifications and a work background the employer can verify before considering you
- Australian work experience will be highly regarded
- Eligible candidates with the right experience and verified credentials may be considered for sponsorship
