Working with the Head Chef, you will coordinate the kitchen, support the team, hold food standards and help the venue's food offering grow.

Key Responsibilities
- Act as the Head Chef's right hand day to day, and run the kitchen yourself whenever the Head Chef is off
- Plan prep and service so the line flows
- Drive the crew through peak trade, handing out jobs and making sure each person knows their part
- Make sure every dish tastes, looks and portions the same, every time
- Have a say in menus and seasonal dishes, pitching specials and fresh ideas
- Keep tabs on stock, place supplier orders and help with buying
- Keep food costs down and waste to a minimum
- Enforce HACCP and the kitchen's food safety, hygiene and safe-work procedures, including correct storage, prep and handling of food
- Teach, coach and mentor the less experienced cooks
- Check that the kitchen stays clean and orderly and that equipment is used properly
- Work hand in hand with management and the front-of-house crew, keeping the team respectful, accountable and professional
Requirements & Eligibility
- You have proven time as a Sous Chef, Senior Chef or in a comparable senior kitchen role
- You hold a formal qualification in Commercial Cookery
- You come from commercial or hospitality kitchens and have led and supervised kitchen crews before
- Big, busy services don't rattle you; you stay calm and in control
- You know food preparation and presentation thoroughly
- You understand HACCP, food hygiene and food safety rules
- You are organised, manage time well, and communicate and lead effectively
- You are dependable and proactive, roll up your sleeves, and care about quality and consistency
- You take ownership and want to keep improving how things are done
- You can provide evidence of your qualifications and professional experience
- You have Australian working rights or eligibility for employer sponsorship, which is available for a suitable and verified candidate
