Key Responsibilities
- Run your assigned section and take full responsibility for it
- Cook gastro-style and pub-style menu items
- Make pizza dough and toppings to the right standard, run the pizza ovens and get cooking times right
- Finish daily prep and mise en place, and organise ingredients and equipment before service
- Keep plating and portions consistent and check food quality all through service
- Rotate stock and keep track of ingredient needs
- Follow food safety, hygiene and cleaning procedures
- Keep the kitchen flowing when it gets busy, covering gastro dining, functions and pizza service as needed
- Talk clearly with chefs and other kitchen staff, and guide junior team members where needed
- Help develop menus and improve the kitchen, keeping standards professional at all times
Requirements & Eligibility
- Demonstrated commercial kitchen experience, including previous work as a Chef de Partie or comparable role
- Strong gastro, pub or similar dining experience
- Proven pizza-making experience including dough preparation and oven management
- Approximately 3–5 years of professional kitchen experience preferred
- Able to run a kitchen section independently, with strong knowledge of commercial prep and cooking techniques
- Understands food safety and hygiene standards
- Holds quality and consistency steady through busy services
- Presents and conducts yourself professionally
- Strong written and spoken communication, and good organisation and time management
- Reliable, adaptable and works well in a team
- Leadership and mentoring experience desirable
- Professional references required to verify previous employment and experience
- Currently based in Australia and available to commence within a reasonable timeframe
- Sponsorship or nomination transfer available for eligible candidates, subject to successful probationary performance and business approval
