An established restaurant operation in Rockingham, Perth, Western Australia is filling kitchen and floor roles at the same time: Chefs, Cooks and Wait Staff.
Back of house you will cook to set standards and run a section during service; front of house you will look after guests from greeting to payment. Either way, the employer wants real hospitality experience you can prove, practical skill, reliability and a good feel for how a restaurant runs. In return you get structured systems, more experience and a path to a long-term career.
Note that applicants must already live in Australia, so this suits South Africans who are already working there.
Key Responsibilities
- Cook and prepare food to the restaurant's quality standards, running kitchen sections efficiently during service
- Prep ingredients and keep prep areas organised
- Keep food quality, plating and portion sizes consistent
- Follow food safety, hygiene and workplace safety procedures, keeping work areas clean, safe and tidy
- Help with stock control, deliveries and inventory
- Work closely with kitchen and front-of-house colleagues, and help newer staff when required
- Welcome guests, take their orders and serve food and drinks with professional service
- Answer guests' questions about the menu
- Clear, wipe and reset tables, and process payments on POS systems
- Keep the dining room professional and welcoming, and help with wider restaurant operations as required
Requirements & Eligibility
- Minimum 1 year of commercial kitchen experience for Chef and Cook positions, including demonstrated experience with Asian cuisine
- Japanese cuisine experience is not required
- Relevant Australian qualifications are preferred
- Employment experience that is real and can be verified, plus the ability to show practical skills for the position
- Communicates well and works well in a team
- Dependable and professional at work
- Keen to learn the restaurant's set procedures and committed to building a long-term hospitality career
- Valid Australian work rights, and currently residing in Australia
- Willing to start work before sponsorship is considered
