A small kitchen, a section of your own and European and modern Australian plates going out at a high standard. A hospitality business in Parkes, Canberra is hiring 2 Chefs/Cooks to join a compact, experienced team in the Australian Capital Territory.
The work is very hands-on. You will cover all parts of kitchen operations and run your allocated section with confidence when service is on.

Key Responsibilities
- Plate up European and modern Australian food at a high standard, working to the recipes, prep methods and standards already in place
- When service starts, your section is yours to run; jump in on other stations whenever the kitchen calls for it
- Knock out the daily prep fast and without mistakes
- Hold portions, plating and quality steady from the first plate to the last
- Pull together with the other three cooks in a four-person kitchen so busy nights, weekends and split shifts stay on track
- Track how stock and ingredients are used and help bring food waste down
- Stick to food hygiene, cleaning and workplace safety rules
- Bring dependable, hands-on effort to a professional kitchen every shift
Requirements & Eligibility
- Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or higher, being a relevant trade qualification in Commercial Cookery
- Minimum 2 years of professional experience in modern Australian or European cuisine
- Background in a fine-dining or quality-focused commercial kitchen
- Chef de Partie or section-level experience is highly regarded
- A complete cook, strong in both cooking and prep
- Comfortable running an allocated station alone, holding food quality while keeping waste low
- Knows food safety, hygiene and kitchen procedures inside out
- Fits into a small, professional kitchen crew
- Free to work evening, weekend and split-shift rosters
- Qualifications and employment history must be genuine and verifiable
- Visa sponsorship is on offer for the right candidate
