Chef and Cook

Breakfast, lunch and dinner: this kitchen in Belmont, Perth runs all three services, and it needs an experienced Cook/Chef who is confident with fusion-style cuisine. The opportunity is verified and based in Western Australia.

Along with cooking, you will take charge of food preparation, quality and kitchen coordination in an organised, high-performing team, with room to grow your culinary skills. Visa sponsorship is available for eligible candidates.

Key Responsibilities

  • Cook dishes for breakfast, lunch and dinner menus, delivering authentic fusion-style food to recipe and quality standards
  • Prep ingredients and set up cooking stations before service, making sure knives, pans, scales and other equipment are ready
  • Review recipes and adjust ingredients or techniques when needed
  • Cook and plate meals quickly during busy services, keeping presentation attractive and consistent
  • Adjust meals within reason to suit customer requests
  • Organise daily kitchen tasks, delegate to the team, and help supervise and train kitchen staff
  • Let front-of-house staff know about daily specials and other kitchen information
  • Track food stock, flag upcoming ingredient needs and help with purchasing and ordering
  • Check food for quality and freshness and throw out expired or unsuitable items according to food safety procedures
  • Use commercial cooking equipment safely and keep the kitchen clean, safe and organised

Requirements & Eligibility

  • Proven professional experience as a Chef or Cook, with a minimum of 2 years in kitchens
  • Experience cooking fusion-style cuisine and solid knowledge of modern cooking techniques and recipes
  • Hands-on use of grills, fryers, ovens and commercial kitchen equipment
  • Knowledge of baking and pastry techniques
  • Able to lead, and confident supervising kitchen staff
  • Handles several tasks at once in a fast-paced kitchen, with strong time management and organisation
  • Communicates clearly and works well in a team
  • Knows food hygiene and sanitation regulations and keeps food quality and presentation high
  • Australian work rights or eligibility for a suitable sponsored visa
  • Willing to work in Western Australia
  • Visa sponsorship is on offer to eligible candidates
