Wall frames, roofs, floors, cladding, fittings and repair work, on both homes and commercial buildings. An established construction company in Victoria, based in West Melbourne, needs a Carpenter who can handle the lot.
Show genuine carpentry ability through real site work, precise installation and solid workmanship. You will work from plans, get measurements right and turn out dependable results. Suitable qualified candidates may be considered for visa sponsorship.

Key Responsibilities
- Study architectural and construction plans to set out the job, taking sizes, materials and the order of work from the specifications
- Measure up, mark out, cut and shape timber and other materials
- Frame walls, roofs, floor joists and sub-floor systems, fixing structural timber square, true and secure
- Hang timber door and window frames and fit related building components
- Put up fascia, wall cladding, roof sheathing and other outside timber work
- Fit prefabricated and timber fittings as the project requires, trimming and adjusting parts until they sit right
- Fix, alter or swap out damaged timber structures
- Erect and strip temporary timber formwork for concrete pours
- Handle hand tools, power tools and site equipment safely and efficiently, with quality workmanship and site safety procedures followed
Requirements & Eligibility
- Certificate III in Carpentry or an equivalent recognised qualification
- Proven hands-on work in residential and/or commercial construction
- Solid practical grasp of timber framing and structural carpentry, and a record of general carpentry, installation and repair jobs
- Handles carpentry hand tools, power tools and related gear competently
- Reads drawings and specs accurately and measures, cuts, fits and installs to a high standard
- Knows construction methods and workplace safety procedures
- Comfortable working alone and pulls their weight in a construction crew
- Willing to meet relevant Australian construction and site requirements. Suitable qualified candidates may be considered for visa sponsorship
