Your day starts behind the espresso machine and ends with the roster, the stock count and the costs in order. This Café Manager job on Bribie Island, Brisbane QLD is for a hands-on leader, not someone who only supervises from the side.
You will run a busy café, lead the people on the floor, keep service and the customer experience sharp, and help shape menus, specials and events that keep locals coming back.

Key Responsibilities
- Own the daily running of the café
- Work the machine yourself as a barista and keep coffee quality consistent
- Lead, coach and coordinate the baristas and front-of-house team, training them in drink preparation, service standards and café procedures
- Build staff rosters and keep daily staffing at the right level
- Help plan seasonal menus, specials and drink selections
- Organise live entertainment, pop-ups and private events, working with suppliers, performers and event partners
- Watch inventory, place orders and keep stock where it should be
- Track running costs and help with basic financial admin
- Keep food safety, hygiene and workplace safety on track, with a clean, organised and welcoming space for customers
- Deal with customer feedback, sort out service problems, build strong customer relationships and support a positive café culture
Requirements & Eligibility
- Minimum 2 years of café or restaurant management experience
- Strong hands-on barista experience on commercial espresso equipment
- For applicable Queensland sponsorship pathways: a Diploma in Hospitality, plus a minimum 3 years of Australian hospitality management experience after completing the relevant diploma for sponsorship eligibility
- Verifiable evidence of your qualifications and employment history
- Demonstrated ability to lead a team and manage staff
- Strong rostering, organisation and time-management skills
- An understanding of stock control, cost-of-goods and basic financial processes
- Event coordination or menu development experience is an advantage
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- A reliable, flexible approach to weekend and evening work
- Current food-safety certification
- Valid work rights or eligibility for sponsorship (Sponsorship: Available for eligible candidates; Work State: Queensland)
