One bay might have a car in for its scheduled service while the next has a vehicle getting a canopy, roof racks and lights fitted. That is the mix at a long-running dealership in Clare, South Australia, which has several permanent full-time vacancies.
It is hiring qualified Automotive Technicians, Diagnostic Technicians and Accessory Fitters, plus 3rd or 4th Year Light Vehicle Apprentices. The workshop is modern and sees all sorts of vehicles; the employer expects tidy workmanship and good service to customers. You get manufacturer training on an ongoing basis, room to build your career and a team that backs you. Suitably qualified overseas applicants who meet Australian visa requirements can be offered employer sponsorship.

Key Responsibilities
- Look after light vehicles on their scheduled services, plus any repairs and upkeep they need
- Track down mechanical, electrical and electronic problems with diagnostic tools, and inspect vehicles to see what work is due
- Fix each fault the way the manufacturer specifies and to the workshop's standard
- Install bull bars, tow bars, canopies, roof racks, lights and similar aftermarket gear exactly as the maker's fitting guide and quality steps require
- Keep your bay tidy and safe and stick to the company's health and safety policies
- Turn out work that is good enough to keep customers happy
- Pull together with fellow technicians and managers to keep the workshop busy and productive
- Join the manufacturer training and keep developing your skills
Requirements & Eligibility
- You are a qualified Automotive Technician or Diagnostic Technician, or you are currently undertaking a 3rd or 4th Year Light Vehicle Apprenticeship
- You have worked as an Accessory Fitter, or you have a strong mechanical knack for installing accessories
- You hold an automotive qualification or apprenticeship that fits the role
- You can service and repair light vehicles and sort out mechanical and electrical faults
- You care about detail and quality work, and you bring a positive attitude and solid work ethic
- You are just as productive alone as in a team, and you talk to customers well
- You hold a current driver's licence or can obtain an Australian driver's licence
