Bricklayers, this one is worth a look. A family-owned retaining wall, earthworks and brickwork outfit in Bunbury, WA wants a full-time Bricklayer to build new structures properly: to industry standard, to the client's spec, on residential, commercial and industrial jobs.
The duties are hands-on from start to finish, from reading the plans to pointing the last joint, and the employer wants someone who takes pride in the result.

Key Responsibilities
- Lay brick, block and stone in mortar, on new work and repairs.
- Work off the drawings and specs and stick to them.
- Keep it straight and true: check with levels, plumb lines and measuring tools.
- Use trowels, levels, mallets, brick saws and power tools, and look after your kit.
- Clean and point joints so the finish keeps the weather out and looks the part.
- Follow safety rules and company policy, and keep the site tidy.
- Pull your weight with the team: help move materials, prep work areas and work with supervisors and the other trades.
Requirements & Eligibility
- Proven experience as a Bricklayer on residential, commercial or industrial construction.
- Current formal bricklaying qualifications, or your apprenticeship completed.
- Know your bricklaying techniques, mortar composition and bonding patterns.
- Read and interpret construction drawings and specifications without fuss.
- Handle hand and power tools safely and effectively.
- Understand the building codes, standards and health and safety requirements that apply in Western Australia.
- Current driver's licence to get between sites.
- Fit for hard manual work in any weather, with an eye for detail, quality workmanship, and good communication as part of a team.
- Desirable: time on custom construction, decorative brickwork or heritage masonry restoration.
- Desirable: current First Aid certification and a White Card (Construction Induction Card).
